Kiku sighed, shuffling the forms in front of him and fiddling with his pen. He had been assigned the grueling and time-consuming task of documenting all of the new clubs for the school year. This meant sitting in the Student Council office during the sign-up hours, and waiting patiently for students to approach with their ideas. He was then to document everything, such as the club's name, mission, what they thought they would require from the Student Council, their supporting faculty...and several other tedious details that if not filed correctly, would mean the club's rejection from the list of recognized clubs. Kiku, though technically Treasurer for the Student Council, had been the only one free during the required time, and so had been assigned to the task. And, as the president of the SC had mentioned under his breath, aside from the president himself, Kiku was (at that time) the most organized and least likely to miss important details.
He glanced down over the form again, being sure he understood exactly what was required of him. Luckily, he did not have to accept or reject the clubs himself; they would go to the Student Council, or the faculty to decide. He was glad for this, since every year it seemed that someone decided to invent a new, unusual club that actually did nothing for the betterment of the school (as a club ought to do). He could still remember reading the list from last year, and a shudder passed through him at the reminder of the 'Become One with Russia' club that had, thankfully, been rejected on the grounds that all of its members were there by force rather than by choice (except for one or two). Still, some of the clubs the SC had approved, or more accurately, deemed rather non-threatening in comparison, were rather ridiculous and in his opinion, a waste of SC funds. Still, if the SC president deemed them acceptable, he could only do his best to make sure each club was allotted adequate funds for the year.
That was part of the reason he had readily agreed to spend his time there. Sighing once more, he faced the door and waited, knowing that the first few students with club ideas would be arriving soon. He had made it a point to arrive early, in order to set up his paperwork and to make sure the office was orderly. A bottle of cold green tea sat next to him, and he opened it and took a sip before returning his attention to the door. The soft chiming of the bell signaled the end of the day, and the beginning of his work assisting students in filling out the club forms.
